Our 2N has had 13.6 X 28's on stock rims for as long as I can remember. Never pulled but never had any problems with them.

If your spinning out in the 4100# class your hitch can't be working right. It's either to low or to far back from the center of the rear axel[or both]. If you run national rules at 18" high & 18" back from the center of the axel to the hitching point & ridgid, I guarentee you won't be spinning out on a good track. 11.2-28 puts down around 110 sq.in compared to 145 sq. in for the 13.6-28.{footprint] Also the height difference will amount to the same as shifting into 2nd. gear. Mowing is one thing but pulling is a whole nother story. I've been pulling tractors since 1958. Hope this helps. I love it when the Fords beat those Red & Green guys.

N puller , Uh ,, I have been to a lot of tractor pulls, you just dont see many old Ns there due to limited hp, short wheelbase, light front end, other tractors in the same weight class seem to do much better, good luck .

13.6-28 tires are way to large for the average 8-n. in pulling. The trouble with the 8-n's is they are geared to high. 1st. in a 8-n is like 2nd in most tractors. If I had a step down trans. I could handle the larger tires with no problem. A set of 12-24's would give you more pulling power, due to higher rpm's at the end of the track [shorter tires are easier to turn] I believe a set of pressed rims off a Ferguson-30 will bolt right on your 8 bolt pattern. Your ground speed with the 24's should be right at 3mph. If your rules alow I would use the 24's on a wide rim. My tractor is very compeditive in classes up to 3200#. When I overhauled the engine I was able to get almost 40 hp. on the dyno.
