Hello, I'm am new to the board and have found it very helpful. I just bought my first tractor. 1949 8n with Dearborn hyd. loader, Erskine snow blower (the pull behind type), and rear blade. Bought it from a close neighbor. I live in NW Minnesota. Temps are very cold right now. The tractor has a built in heater in the lower radiator hose. The heater appears to be molded into the hose. Took it off and it had a large heating element inside. Aluminum housing outside says 400w, Canada. Hooked up jumper wires and it works good. I am missing the female end to plug it in so I'll have to make one. The male end is on the hose and has two round plugs. Has anyone seen this set up before?

I've got the same style heater on my 2N. I use the cordset from my wife's Farberware coffeepot. I'd bet that you could get that cord at any decent hardware store.

Nope...then she might notice that the cord is out in the tractor shed rather than with her pot!

From what you describe of the plug it sounds like the same thing used on block heaters. I have a spare on my shelf. Go to you're local tractor store and look at the block heaters they have. They will have spare plugs. Also if you can post a photo of the tractor and blower.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check the store tomorrow for the plug. I'll also post picture tomorrow. Do I just add the photo in the Tractor Photos section? Sorry still new here.
