I had been plowing snow for about an hour yesterday when all of the sudden antifreeze was spraying from under the hood. By the time I stoped, got off the tractor and looked it had stopped. Antifreeze was dripping from allover so hard to pinpoint where it came from exactly. Finished plowing and parked the tractor with no more problems. Any suggestions where the antifreeze came from?

You might want to check that radiator core to make sure air will flow freely through it. When I first got my "N" it would overheat and spray anti freeze everywhere. I checked the radiator core in front of the fan and it was clogged with 50 years of seeds and grass. I blew it out with an air hose and have had no trouble since. Its been 10 years now...Ron

Yup - the N likes just enough anti-freeze and no more. It will puke out the extra.

Also check to make sure you have a termostat. It is located inside the upper radiator hose so a simple squeeze will let you know if it is installed.

Was the radiator full when you started? My 8N will spit out coolant until the level is just above the coils, then quit. That's where it likes it, so I leave it there.

Even though it is cold, you may have overheated the engine if the radiator is not flowing well. The overflow tube an many tractors is often broken at the neck of the radiator. That would allow coolant to "hit the fan", especially if you do not have a fan shroud.
When you stopped, the engine may have cooled enough for you to finish the job without the radiator spitting any more.
Let us know what you find.
