Is there any reason a Kabota 3pt backhoe would not work on a 2N. I can't see how there would be any difference but...I value the opinions of all you fine board members. The Kabota it came off of was a 25hp. unit. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks, Buckeye

If you look at Kubota's website, you will find that the backhoe weighs around 900 pounds, and that use with the Kubota tractor requires that a front loader also be attached.

The front loader acts as a counterweight while driving around with the backhoe attached, and also has "power down" double-acting cylinders on the boom to use the front bucket to help stabilize the tractor while the backhoe is in use.

The weight of the backhoe is near the limit of what the N-series internal hydraulics (in good condition) can lift.

Perhaps the ideal companion to the Kubota backhoe would be RayPHX's "Full Tilt Paulson".

You might be able to skate by with "suitcase" counterweights up front, provided you took it easy while digging.

Thanks, I hadn't considered the weight and the need for front counterweight, maybe I can find a lighter unit. Thanks again, Buckeye

Yeah, I'd like to know about something like that, too. I've wanted just even a tiny little digger for little concrete pad footings, not one of them monstrous Dearborn thingamabobs that look like they're off a Fred Flinstone quarrysaurus.

I figure something with a self contained PTO-driven hydro pump, maybe a a 6-10" dig width, and a conservative 3 foot depth would make me real happy.

For cheap, tho.
