I'm trying to remove the lift cover on an 8N and don't have my I&T manual handy. I've removed the PTO shaft and hydraulic pump, disconnected the control spring from the rocker, removed leveling arms from lift arms and taken out 14 cap screws around lift cover. Am I missing something? Tried putting a jack under each lift arm but just lifted the whole tractor. Can't even get a putty knife between cover and housing. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Chris

Send me an Email and I'll send you a picture of the procedure to break the seal on the cover.

Mostly big prybar!

Did you miss a cap screw? Its a heavy casting, but I can't understand why it would be that hard to get off....unless the last guy didn't put the gasket back on....try penetrating oil.

Good luck.
