Three filters. One in tank, one in sediment bowl and one in the elbow at the carb.. If that is it I would run 1/2 can of "Gum-Out" in each tank for a while to clean out the "economizer" in the carb..
Make sure you have fresh gas in the tank.

j arseneault,

Another possibility is you have a vaccuum leak in the manifold or carb.

SOunds like it's starved for gas. Clean the carb really well, blow out with compressed air, clean the filters. Adjust the carb at 1 to 1-1/4 turns out on the main screw after you have cleaned it. Once it starts, adjust screw in or out to get smooth running and no hesitation when throttle is opened rapidly. You shouldn't have to use the choke for more than an instant as you crank the tractor.
