I know someone posted a solution for a leaky tank a while ago but I neglected to right the URL down ... I believe it was a product called POR? Can anyone help/suggest a remedy ...

Thx.

Johnson Gas Tank Sealer. Check with radiator shops.

My chainsaw gas tank leaked a few weeks ago. I emptied it and used a product with the word Aluminum in it. Not sure what it was called, but it is sold by Fleet Farm. I applied it to the hairline crack on the exterior of the tank after sanding the paint off. No leaks since the application.

POR 15 makes a sealer for the interior of the fuel tank to seal rust off. It won't seal holes though. For that you will need to get it welded or use a regular fuel tank hole sealer. I'm not sure if something such as JB Weld can be trusted on a fuel tank directly over a hot engine-I don't know if it will work in contact with gas.

Mike .. thx ... i can't see any holes, rather it seems the tank is 'weeping'(if that makes sense) and I thought it might make sense to try the sealer before replacing the tank.

Thx again,

Steve

Eastwood also makes a gas tank sealer. It involves using a series of chemicals to clean out the tank and then seal it up - I used it on my 8N several years ago and no problems since.
