Happy New Year to all! I'm a new member here, and I already feel at home just 'reading the mail'. I've posted a few responses, but here's the first question:
Wife gave me a Jubilee a little early for Christmas. It's my first 'real' tractor, and I think I'll keep both. I've been reading up on the NAA's, and noted a Live PTO option. I know I don't have one, and my NH dealer said "Good Luck".
Any parts available? Different Transmission? I'm open for ideas...
Thanks for all your help so far just sittin' on the sidelines!

Gave you a Jubilee? Wow.
I got a Jubilee myself, but my wife keeps telling me it's an "Unfunded Mandate". She thinks we really don't "need" it, and I keep trying to convince her otherwise. Anyway, I don't have live PTO, but I would like to have it. I see them around, for $500 or more. I don't "need" it that bad, I guess. I am going to have to show your post to my wife.
"Look honey, this guy's wife GAVE him a Jubilee!". What a great wife! Good lucj with the PTO, and the Jubilee. It's a nice tractor. LarryNAA

Hi Bill. The NAA's came from the factory with live hydraulics, which was one of the improvements over the 8N. Live PTO for the NAA was only available as a dealer accessory, and as bg stated, they are very hard to find.
Here's some info on it from a dealer sales brochure for the "new" Jubilee:

If you ever do find one, I have both the owner's manual and a dealer parts book explosion diagrams for it, and can email you the scans.

Best of luck with it..... .Ed

Back when I first bought my Jubilee in the mid 70s, the local Ford dealer still had one for sale and he tried to talk me into it. I was only doing grading work at the time and did not feel like I needed it. Wish I had thought a little bit ahead to the day I first got a bushhog. Oh well. That is an interesting ad. It does not mention that the live PTO is hydraulically run which is what I thought they were. And when the mention of two clutches, maybe this one is different??

Hey Mike. I can't comment on the one that you saw in the 70's, but the Dearborn accessory did have a separate shift lever next to the PTO engagement lever. It looked like this when installed:

Hope this helps..... ..... Ed

Bill - From your post - Definately keep both.

Look in archives for "Live Thing" - "Zane"

Will give you what you need on the tractor.

As to the wife, just keep saying "Thank you and Yes Dear"

Charles

The Live Thang is for live hydraulics not live PTO. There was a optional Jubilee Live PTO available, but they are extremely rare.
