Is there any device made to connect the left and right brakes on a 2N? Working the clutch and left brake at the same time is a real trick. Thanks for any help.

Dave, You can set the clutch such that it will activate the left brake. Simple adjustment on the shaft.

Works great,

That's why I prefer to drive Mom's 8N rather than my 2N. I have big feet, but bad ankles, so the 2N is impossible for me to left brake and clutch.

That handbrake thingy looks pretty neat... first time I ever saw one of those. It's amazing what people come up with to design around design flaws.

I'm surprised that the 9N/2N didn't get the left-brake-right-side design before they went out of production. Why'd they wait until the 8N to do that? (Rhetorical question, unless someone knows a reason.)

You need one of these.
It's a 9/2N hand brake that attaches to the rear of the left brake pedal where it bolts on.
I bought this one from John in IA last summer and really like it a lot. Takes about 5 minutes to install (if the 2 bolts aren't rusted)
I've been meaning to get a picture of it installed but never remember to do it in the daylight. If you wanted to make one I could send you some more pictures tomorrow.

Hey Ken
It's not real easy to get a good view but I think you can get a pretty good idea how it goes on.
You can see it wouldn't be hard to build one.
BTW the gray angle iron frame underneath is my snow plow frame.
