I have a problem. I was using my 8N today to drag logs. Lunch time came, took the key out to go eat a bite at the house. Came back to tractor, no key in pocket. Thought I would put the two wires together that goes to ignition switch. It started a little bit, then died. I gave up on that idea. Cut trees the rest of daylight, walked by tractor one last time, and there the key was, laying on top of hood. Now the problem. Which wire goes to which terminal? Thanks in advance.

The kew switch is just a simple switch. It don't care in what direction the current flows. Just put one wire on each terminal. Did remember to turn the gas back on? You will have to find out why it died. Make sure you have good clean connections.
