hello. I have a 1941 9n and I am wondering if there is a way to manually lock the rear axles in the event i get the tractor stuck while plowing snow. I have a loader on it and that is what i have been using on my property. It works greast though have almost got it stuck in the past.

One of the advantages of having independent rear wheel brakes is that when one tire loses traction and starts spinning you can ride that brake, lightly or not so, to force power to the other wheel, thus getting maximum torque to the tire with the better traction and hopefully freeing yourself. This method gives much more flexibility for one side to the other than locking a differential if it could be done. I would guess that driving very far other than straight ahead on smooth level ground with locked differential would be very hard on the drive train from transmission to tire surface. I have found that by lifting the loader bucket as high as possible it shifts a lot of the weight that's making you lose traction on the rear wheels back toward the rear end--- hence you don't get stuck as often. It works for me when I'm moving round bales on the front end. FWIW
