Some months back there was a thread relating to the present value for the 1953 Jubilee. This particular thread was prompted by an add for a jubilee with a price if $10,000. Well 2003 is close upon us and ford may celebrate 100 years so the question is. Will the jubilee quickly raise in value for fords 100 year and the jublee 50 year or will 2003 pass with the jubilee remaining at or close to present value. From post from the last few months I detect quite a bit of interest in the jubilee. What is your opinion and what do you think the trend will be.

The trend will be like the stock market. Are you ready for that chance? They might go up a little for one year due to increased interest by collectors for good ones. Then they will go back to the same amount over the 8N, which is not that great. The Golden is rarer than the 8N because they were made only for one year. But it is basicly an NAA.

Good Jubilee's will continue to increase in value, just like all N's have. There will be no quantum leaps until the supply starts to dry up. I think the $10,000 is a stretch even under fantasy conditions. Now, if you could find the 1st Jubilee made or the last one and it was in original untouched mint condition, it may be worth a premium price.

...Greg Peterson's F.A.C.T.'s in theis month's Succesful Farming reported the following antique tractor auction price average 1992 vs. 2002:
Ford 8n 2002 high/low= $3850/$1150 avg $1946 1992 high/low= $1900/800 avg $1389
Ford 9n 2002 high/low= $3800/400 avg $1831 1992 high/low= $ 975/650 avg $ 813

I don't think there is enough data here to draw any substantial conclusion, other than the prices on 9N's have risen more sharply than the 8N's, at least as far as his sample goes.

Do you suppose the advent of the Zane Thang has had anything to do with the surge in 9N value? Or is it all those gray/red paint jobs?

I think the demand for N's in general is up and there are fewer 9/2's around and they are being sold more often as the owners upgrade. I think there are a lot of neophytes who will buy any N, and there are a lot of 9/2 owners who are ready to sell, and they can be had slightly cheaper than an 8 or NAA..
