Brush hogging 4ft tall grass...tractor reared up, but it was too late, it rolled over. At least it went gently and did not bust the oilpan. Backing up just buried the steels. Had to break out the chainsaw to get it undone. Luckily it only cost me a muffler. Figured ya needed a laugh it is almost the weekend.

While working at a local university farm the overseer/unit manager made the mistake of telling me if the tractor would bend it over the hog could handle it!! we were hogging over growth on new ground, run over a bunch of sweet gum that had clumped together, sheared the shaft even with the gearbox output. Needless to say I had the rest of the day to repair!!

Neat pic, but me thinks you wore off all the rubber from the rear tires trying to get off that "stick" LOL

The grill...that is a story in itself...fallen off so many times, and run over with the steels. It won't stay in any longer, so I have wired it to the hood...this is the second time. That is another project...make a better brush bumper that will protect the grill and radiator. I Have a welder just need to wire it up.

Once I drove the DB 885 from the driveway to a hay field with the grille setting on the front end weight. I'd taken it off to start the tractor with a Boost-It (a DB 885's battery is behind the grille), and I forgot to put it back on, until I noticed it when I got off to grease the mower.

I didn't run over it though, as it stayed on the front end weight.

What are the skeleton wheels like? Do they give you good traction?

I bought them off of e-bay...$200, with a few of the extra teeth. The person used them on a show tractor...the paint is just a little scratched up now. They grab REAL GOOD, when pulling logs with the boxblade attached I can get the front end 2 ft off the ground and sink the backwheels until either the log pulls free or pushing in the clutch. The bad thing is that when clearing the property a yupon tree or a vine will get wedged and wack the operator...a screened ROPS is next addition.

I don't ever drive it on cement or asphalt, everything is either sand or dense woods. After ruining a new set of rear tires after only a 6 months of use...I had to find another solution.

The wheels and centers add 400lbs per side...just don't be around when changing them and they start to fall.

Is all of the above worth it...YES
Once I get everything cleared like we want I will probably go back to the tires. They leave some rough tracks for running a push lawn mower over.

Might something sort of like that be available for an IH 46 baler?

Once this year the baler had two flat tires in two days. Of course, both tires were rather old (but not as old as the spare that got the baler back).

It wouldn't work though, because the second flat was on SR2037, and the baler also had to go on paved roads to get to the site of the first flat, as it was coming back from that hay field when the second tire deflated.

Let me know what they're like on a hard road in 4th gear. Wheels like that should come with a seat cushion.
