I have been corrosponding for a couple of weeks now with a lady in Battleboro NC who ownd a 9N ford and is havine a heck of a time with her lift. You may remember her because she aparently paid too much for the tractor when she bought it when the man who sold it to her advertised it as an 8N and she being ignorant of tractors bought it thinking it was an 8N.

She bought a ZANE THANG and a LIVE THANG from me thinking that she could get the lift to work better. She is mostly right now trying to get it to hold her bush hog up while hogging. She has pulled the top cover and replaced the ram cylinder gaskets, installed a cover gasket since when she pulled it there was no gasket on it at all. She has replaced the pressure relief valve and confirmed that the tensioner spring on the control arms is connected and seems to be strong enough. (still wondering about that) It is connected. She didn't replace the rings on the ram cylinder when she was in it last week and there is a stream of oil coming out the ram cylinder now that she has the gaskets fixed. I was wondering if perhaps someone before she owned it has replaced the 8N piston with the NAA piston and rubber rings and that perhaps the rings are gone?????

This lady has 10 children of her own and tells me that she raises nearly all their food herself. You can't help but admire someone who has enough intestinal fortitude to accomplish what she is doing on her own initiative.

I am hoping that someone who lives close to her would go to her home and try to help her fix the lift on the tractor.

She lives in Battleboro NC.

If anyone will give it a try for her sake you can Email me at wzsherman@aol.com and I will give you her address and tell you everything that she and I have tried over the phone and through Email.

My phone # is 256 268 2327.

This would be a nice project for the members of the N forum that are close enough to her to be of assistance. If I were closer to her I would go myslef but I am 10 hours away by car.

Zane

Probably. Someone send methe details. Battleboro is about 60 miles from here, closer to Rocky Mount.
