A guy is selling a Jubilee, asking 3400. No leaks, no rust, original 6 volt, original proofmeter reasing 2300 hrs. I did a compression check and the readings were 1-130, 2-130,3-60,4-60. Could it be the last 2 low readings are from a blown head gasket or is it probably worse news? Anything I can do to narrow it down? Thanks

Bob, Ifn I had one guess using those #s I would guess head gasket leaking between 3 & 4.

Did you do a wet and dry compression test? If the two go up close to the others with a spoon of oil in the cylinder it is bad rings. If not it is valves. I would tend to say valves as the cylinders tend to wear pretty close, unless one cylinder has a problem. But two at once, sticking valves or bad valves is my guess.
