I have just completed a restoration on a 1950 8N ford, and now I have found a Superior all hydraulic loader for sale locally. My question is will a Model #H-128-S, serial # 4830 fit on my tractor. The pump shaft has a splined end, do I need to change it? I'm being told it came off a ford jubilee. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Bob, My first question is does it have adjustable rear mounts? Second question, When you restored your 8n did you put a pump drive in the end of the crank when you put it together? Now that the questions are out of the way. If the loader has adjustable rear mounts it will fit your 8n, if not your going to have to modify as you go. Second if you didn't put a pump drive in your crank your going to have to pull your hood and front axle assembly and do so. Then you'll be able to check the splined shaft to see if it fits or needs changed. Before you go to all this work I'd go see a friend with an 8n and loader, put 500 pounds in the bucket and see how you like driving it. I'm not talking you out of it, but you'll know what armstrong steering is all about.John

John, I have the ratchet type connector on the end of the crank. I believe it's original for the old hand crank. I'm not sure if the rear mount is adjustable, but I'll find out. Thanks for the help, by the way, a buddy of mine has a 9n with an old dearborn loader, and it's a handfull. Thanks again...

Bob, You'll have to tear it back a part and put in the front pump drive adaptor and speacial screw. This is available threw ford new holland or central tractor/ val-u-built. The rachet peice as you call it is for the hand crank and will not drive a front pump. The way around this is to eliminate the front pump and run the hydraulics off the 3 point. But it's a real pain and limits your lifting capacity. Besides you have to chain the 3 point down and open a valve in order to use the loader. and raise the loader and close the valve to unchain and use the 3 point. But if that loader doesn't have adjustable mounts it won't fit your tractor with out some work. goodluck John

Bob,
You need a pump drive on the outside of your crank pully. You can find them on Ebay every now and then. A pump won't be able to drive off the orig. crank bolt holdind your pully on.
