Max..... ..Just connect the 1-wire 12 volt alternator to the big battery terminal of the starter switch. Make certain your 12 volt battery is NEGATIVE GROUND. or you will be buying a new alternator. Alternator solidstate voltage regulator absolutely demand negative ground.

Then you have to worry about the OEM 6 volt ignition system, the simplest way is to use a 12 to 6 volt converting resistor AND the infamous ballast resistor mounted on the backside of the dashpanel. Connect 'em in series like flashlight batterys. Mount the 12-6 volt converting resistor anywhere you'd like but don't tie it to your plastic insulation on your wiring harness. Burnie-burnie.

Oh yes, starter don't care, positive or negative ground, always turns the correct way.

Ammeter does care, negative ground makes the ammeter read the wrong way. turn the ammeter wire the other direction so it indicates (+) when battery is being charged. You have to jazz the engine to make the 1-wire alternator start charging.

Points don't care. Condensor don't care, its good for 100 volts.

6 volt headlight care about 12 volts. flash and instant darkness. Change 'em all to 12 volts..... .....HTH, Dell
