My 8n had been sitting for about 3 weeks and when I started it I got a pretty load knocking only for about 5 seconds then it ran perfectly I did not see the oil pressure while knocking but it was 30lbs when it smoothed out. Can I put anything in the gas or oil to protect it while sitting its just the greatest tractor? Regards to all

John..... ...sounds like your oilpump lost its prime. Usually the oil pickup tube is becomming un-soldered. Starter every day and maybe you'll keep the prime. OR don't turn on the ignition switch or pull the choke untill you've cranked the engine a few cranks and build up the oilpressure, then lighter' off..... .....Dell
