12 volt wiring problem

I just bought a 8n with side mount Dist. It has been changed to 12 volt. It is not charging. I took alternator and had it checked and it is ok. I thing wiring is fouled up. I'm not much for wiring, so I would appreciate any input.

Steve, go to the top of the page and do a search in the archives on 12 volt wiring diagram. There are serveral ways to rewire an 8n for 12 volts, thus you will find several different diagrams. Find one that matches your application ( or as close as you can) and then look for and repair the problem. I completly rewired my 8n using one of the diagrams and havent had any trouble since.
