Landscape rake advice

Last year I bought a landpride 6" rake with the intentions to do some finish leveling on the property. But mostly I wanted for picking up the bloody rocks that surface every time it rains. It was my impression that I would drag this be hind the 8n in draft mode set at the lightest depth in an effort to at least keep it in contact with the ground. And this almost works except that It doesn't take long before the rake loads up with dirt an I get a pile of it mixed with the rocks that I gotta deal with later. I actually want the rocks themselves to use for other landscaping projects. Then I saw that as an option for this rake they sell gauge wheels and thought that it makes sense; now that would help to skimjust the rocks of the surface. But now The NH dealer is telling me that I should be using this in position control mode. It seems that if i hit even the slightest uneven ground the rake is going to hold its position and loose the rocks that I have gathered. Does any have some experience doing this task That they can share ?

Marty..... ...your raking too aggressive. Shorten up your adjustable toplink. You may even want to remove everyother rake tooth. Set your rake at a sidewize angle so the rocks roll into a windrow..... ...Dell
