Supposedly, it's 524076. I have 498459, which I reckon was made in July or August of 1952.

bg,
Does your carb have a date code stamped in the brass tag area? I've seen some with and some without date codes on the carb.

Jim, the carb on my 48, 8N has a brass tag on it. It is marked TSX 241B, over 57,11.
Do you know what the 57 and 11 stand for? Is that a date code?

No, that's a new one on me. My 850 (1955) has a date code on the carb that reads "6 55" which I take to mean June 1955. After I found that I started looking on other tractors. I see a date code with regularity on hundred series carbs, but not so often on N's. When I do find one with a code, it does make sense...in other words the date on the carb coincides with the year of the tractor based on serial number....it's not like another carb from a different tractor was swapped. I don't know when they started date coding carburetors. And I really don't know what your 57,11 means.

I'll check....I don't remember 'cause it's been a long time since I've seen the carb.

It's over there, behind that Folgers can full of nuts and washers under that pile of rags.
