While visiting dave#1 in New York this summer, I experience his version of a ROPS he had installed onto his tractor. His is much more sturdier than mine. :-)

That ROPS systems looks a little hinky to me. With the two elbow joints positioned over the fenders, wouldn't the entire unit just swing back from the force of an end-to-end rollover, UNLESS they were welded securely? It may or may not handle a side-to-side rollover, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to be my life on it for a front-to-back rollover.

Those were my thoughts also. But then on closer inspection I figured that there might have been a shower head installed for those dusty days

Those are show bars for mounting fog lights in case one wants to work in the fog...:-).. In all seriousness, the elbows look like cast iron pipe and would not support a rollover... I think that they should be removed because they could give a person a false sense of security..

I second that. I don't think it would help much in a rollover -- and the false sense of security might lead someone to take a few chances.

The LH radius arm is bowed quite a bit - usyally a sign of having a loader on. Good chance the whole front end may need rebuilding. Just an observation

My understanding is that live pto was a rare dealer installed option and that no repair parts are available for it today. If you have your heart set on Ford with live pto you need to look for a 660,860,661, or 861 (or newer of course).
