Just acquired a bunch of documentation and found this memo from United Tractor & Equipment Co. of Sioux Falls, SD, dated 12/20/1950. It lists the latest dealer and retail prices for various implements:

Ed G. strikes again. Dang, Ed, where do you go to get stuff like this, it's great! Do you haunt every tractor show in 3 states? Appreciate you sharing this, what other goodies did you get?

P.S.: That '55 Oliver sickle mower you were helping me I.D. a few weeks ago; got a brochure on it, and just bought a "1955 Oliver Mower Manual" on e-bay, $5.00. Hope it's got more info in it. I bragged a little to the fella I got it from (since it was mud-covered junk last he saw it), told him it's workin' great! Now he's mumbling about going out and buying another one for himself! Should I offer to let him borrow it?

Ed..... .....in 1950, I hoed corn for 10c/hr, and sodapop was 5c and the debate at the corner store was about the better tasteing 8oz Coca-Cola vs the 12oz Pepsi-Cola, or the clear 7oz 7-Up or the 10oz Dr Pepper or the Hiers RootBeer, Nehi Orange. Pepsi won, but I ALWAYS had to share half of it with my younger kid brother. You ain't never seen anything poured with such chemical precision 'cuz he got to choose which glass..... ....Dell, who though getting 25c for push mowing the lawn was slave labor because kid brother got to go fishing instead (well, he usually caught a 6" trout) Pretty soon, the icebox was full of fish and Mom would fry'em innna pan. I never did qet quite the fine motor skill that Mom had for deboneing fried trout. Here in Pacific N/W, you filet your 24" salmon and throw more meat away on the bones than those little 6" trout ever though of having. (grin)..... ..Thanks for nostalgia, Dell
