I am getting everything set up for a double acting hydraulic toplink but have been amazed at the price for the toplink cylinder - $185. I have looked at Northern Tool which has a variety of double acting cylinders for $75 or less but they don't seem to have anything which will readily connect as a toplink. What are the rest of you using? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Just got this installed this past weekend. $150 delivered to the door less the hyd lines. I struggled for the answer as your doing now. You can buy a cylinder where ever for around $75 and make up your own ends but it's tough to keep it down to 21 1/2" colapsed. If ya build your own get at least a 2 1/2" bore. If you order the chief from baileynet.com it's a catorgy 2 and you'll have to install bushings ($1.83 ea @FNH) and machine .100" of each side of the cap end.

Greg..... ..I use the typical Cat-1 turnbuckle top-link on my standard Ferguson Systems hydraulics with automatic hydraulic draft control.

I think if I had to constantly adjust my toplink to control my implement draft or depth, I'd be looking for a new implement that was adjusted correctly.

Since the N-Tractor doesn't have a ready source of hydraulics to operate a hydraulic top-link, most N-tractors just use the manual adjust top-link..... ..... .Dell

Dell, can't argue with the draft deal. I use the HYD Toplink in position control above the ground.
Supper handy with a box grader but my main use is with a scoop. Allows one to scoop with the tool flat to the ground, transport tiped back, and finally make that manual trip dump work tiped out. Haven't tried it out on the boom lift yet but should be able to gain additional lift height at both ends. As ya say though gota have a remote to hook up to in the first place. AB
