I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 9N TRACTOR. I TRIED MOWING WITH THE 6 FOOT FINISH MOWER THAT CAME WITH IT, BUT IT BOGGS DOWN AND DIES. I TUNED IT UP WITH NEW WIRES,PLUGS,CARB,DIST,ROTOR,CLEANED FUEL SCREEN, TRIED OPENING MAIN ADJ NEEDLE ON CARB. OPENED UP GOVERNOR EVERTHING LOOKS GOOD. THE TRACTOR STARTS GREAT RUNS GREAT BUT AS SOON AS YOU HOOK THE MOWER UP AND TRY TO MOW IT BOGGS DOWN AND BACK FIRES ALITTLE.

I agree with Fast Ed, check the firing order: 1243. #1 is in the front by the raditor. Also make sure all plugs are firing. Before I rebuilt my 48 8N, it would foul plugs on #3 and #4. It would still run and I couldn't tell it was missing. It just didn't have any power.

You said you changed the plug wires. Are they solid core wires or car resistor wires? These old Ns need solid core wires.

I would still look at governor and linkage to carb. The governor should be holding rpm unless you have and excessive load.
