It took a while but it can be done! I was able to box up a Jubilee Rear End Caseing in 1/2 inch thick card board and 2-lbs of duct tape and got it to excactly 150lbs. so it could go by UPS. Had to remove the trumpit studs and the guts to make it weight that much. So if you ever need one shipped by UPS it can be done. A bare block for a 8N will ship by UPS also. Mark H.

Mark, I am NOT trying to be a smart a$$ but would that center housing ship just cleaned up good and tagged? I have shipped some fairly big stuff unwrapped, nothing that big, and it did not have to be wrapped. Have the rules changed? ray

That's a good question! I asked UPS and they told me it has to be clean and nothing sticking out to hurt the drivers when they pick it up. I like some padding around the gaskit sealing areas to protect them with. Mark H.

I have shipped several bare 8N blocks in board crates & they do go UPS at under 150#. I believe it cost about $75 to ship from ME to CO. ...DaBrow

I would have it in the mail tomorrow if I had a 8N block. But now if you need a 134 cid Jubilee block I could help you out. I haven't weight that one yet I think it is over the 150 lb mark but real close. Mark H.

Good going Mark.
There is a living to be made in these old tractors. Somewhere.
You're carving out a little corner of the market for yourself.
I'm glad for you.

The emptiy case with out the gears was 150 lb, one box. The rear gears 95lbs one box. I pack gears in spray foam after they are bagged up in plastic. That way they can go in a card board box and won't get damaged. I do the same thing to Crank Shafts. Blocks go on a piece of plywood with 2x2s under it so you can lift it. I bolt them to it with the pan holes and put plywood over the top of the block then cover it with card board and tape it up good with packing tape. Mark H.

I used to work for USF Dugan (way back when it was TNT Dugan). Still have some friends at the Des Moines AF terminal. Get a reasonable discount with an LTL carrier and I bet AF could beat the UPS price. Dugan used to charge about $50 for 150#'s.

Problem is the rates at Fed-X, UPS would charge 78.00 and Fed-X 400.00 for the same part to the same place. Mark H.

Thanks, that is good to know. I am always wanting to know if something will go by UPS or has to go freight. It is amazing that UPS will take some of these things.

Sounds like Cookie time to me.

It is couch time! I just pounded 50 Steel T-Posts 2 ft in the ground in 4 hours. That is about 6 minuits per post and the last few took longer. I must be getting old. That did include cross wiring 3-H-Pulling Posts and laying the stakes out too. So maybe around 5 mins a post. Used to do 75 non stop must be getting old! Mark H.

Greg; I know I counted the hits with the driver and it was about 30 to put one in. Nice ground no rocks but hard. It seemed that when it got down to around 2 ft it got easier to pound in. Can't brag I am so tired that's all I will do for the rest of the day! Mark H.
