I've tried the 3 H's (hitting heating hoping) and my leveling gear is still seized within the fork. Also, the check chain is seized to the fork as well. Anyone have some helpful advice on whether it's possible to get it un-seized or do I just get the hack saw out?

Thanks,
Christian

Christian, Just had the same problem with mine. PB Blaster, heat from a propane torch, and a hammer was all it took. Well that and about four days of spray, heat, hammer, wait.

If you haven't tried that PB Blaster it's better than anything else on the market. Also try twisting the rod in both directions when trying to free it.

I have just comleted removal of a stuck leveling shaft from the fork. I had to buy a 1/2" dia 10 inch long drill bit, drill out the center of the shaft from the bottom, and out it came. Time and materials exceeded replacement cost, your call.

Thanks for the comments. How do you actually remove the shaft from the housing where the crank is in order to replace it?

Kind of depends on how much time you are willing to spend on salvaging a thirty dollar part. If time is cheap I have had some good results with PB Blaster. Spray it on, let it sit, tap with a small hammer, spary it, let it sit, etc. etc. over a period of a week.

If you time is worth any thing you can buy a new leveling arm--not like original but will do the job for around thirty bucks from e. g. Stevens.

Your mileage may vary
