Do any of you Michiganders know anything about King-Seely in Ann Arbor? King-Seely apparently was in the metal-stamping business and made Thermos bottles and lunch boxes among other things. They produced the 1953-on Proofmeters. I got one in today that is nearly as pristine as can be, but it has some problems. It was built May 11, 1953 by King-Seely. I think it's repairable, but I'm now interested in establishing a timeline on the Proofmeter. Of course, Ford/New Holland/et al has no idea about the sources of this stuff and couldn't care less.

They were originally American Can. Then they became Thermos King Seely and Halsey-Taylor was a division that made drinking fountains and plumbing fixtures

Hey I used to be an electrician for American can co. We actually built machines that had every thing to do with making cans was located in a little city called Fitchburg in central Massachussetts. Was a great job I loved it.
