I guess I was to impatient with the hood. I read everything in the posts and gave it another shot. Now it is kind of fun to remove the dents! I did not notice at first but those little taps were taking out the dents slowly. For every one I get out it makes me do another one. I formed a small 1/8 inch lip on the bottom of the grill and the curve now stays in it. Got kind of excited and removed a bunch more from it. It is going to work out now and I am doing the work real slow but the more you do the more you want to do it better. Thanks for pushing me it is starting to look nice again. Mark H.

Mark, I don't know why someone else did not mention this. When knocking dents out on surfaces that have compound curves a shot bag (Lead shot used for reloading shot shells) used for a backer (buck up) works great.

Bob had told me that in a email. I did some more to it today then some parts came!! I have the lift plate to put on and the exsaust manifold. I have all the other parts on now. Still waiting for the spring assembly rod and yoke. But I completed the radiator hook/up, oil lines, head, steering wheel, oil filter, plugs, generator, all wiring, fan belt and even put the oil in the engine too. I did not want to forget that part so it is done. I will work on the hood till it looks good. Mark H.

Mark, always leave at least 1 dent in it so you can always say you wern't the first to make a dent in it....
Good going.
