I see you guys from the South getting your land plows scoured and shiney from turning over your gardens . Some are discing or building harrows.
Still others are asking about finish mowers and raking up the gravel left over from snow plowing.. It'll be a while yet before we get to doing those things around here.

I plowed the sidewalks around my whole block all winter.
But now there isn't anything for the tractor to do untill I get it ready to bring back to the lake for the summer. Except drive it around a little.
Tonight I fired it up and just drove around the block on the sidewalk. Cracked the ice along the edges so it'll melt faster.
People can hear the chink chink chink of the tire chains as I go by.
Got a few waves from out the windows.
Kind of felt like an old dog making his rounds, marking out his little piece of turf.
I left the hydrants alone.

Hi Ultradog, Your part of the world looks exactly as ours here on the east coast of Canada, could have been the same storm that arrived here last wednesday/27. forecast is for warmer temp. and time to get the impliments for gardening ready, another six weeks before planting time. Cheers, Murray

I'm surprised the city lets you drive it on the sidewalks.

Has anyone chipped in for gas yet? That looks like it would be fun! 90% of my snow is gone now. Any place the sun gets to good is gone now. The wife just told me she wants to re-do the lawn so I get to dig it up with the tractor and put sod down this time. Our weather is real hard to grow a lawn from seed, it drys out so fast in the dry hot air in the summer and the dogs dig it all up. Mark H.

Hey Mark,
No I haven't gotten any $ for gas yet though I do have a couple of promises for a 12 pack.
We'll see.

Been there, done that Ultradog and froze along the way. Guess if we don't expect much we won't be disapointed. Blizzard coming today might get a chance to do it all over again.

Try putting a lawn in with alfalfa Mark. It's got good deep roots and will take cate of that bull if he comes back and starts snacking on it.:<)

Ooch Eii thay highland coows are GREAT laddy. The reason cattle have a problem with digesting alfalfa is their multi stomach digestive system I think. Don't know if anyone does know for sure, but I know this fresh will kill, cut and let lay for two days and no problem. Neghbour had 100 head of holstiens, when pasture got short he cut some alfalfa let lay for two days then fed with no trouble. It was a crule joke but with what BIG UGLY put you through I couldn't resist.
I will practice restraint.Bob

I agree Mike.
But then after 60 years they've kind of earned the right to call most anywhere home. Don't you think?
