Dose the Golden Jubilee have the Sherman 3-Speed on the stock ones or is that a add on. Is the Sherman used in the Jubilee for the 3-speed combination below the steering collumn on the right side? Thanks, Mark H.

I have a jube with a Sherman hi/lo/std, lever on the left like an 8N. I also have a Jube that I am putting in a Hupp aux. hi/lo/std. The lever is on the right like my '48 8N but it has a longer handle. I don't know if they were dealer installed or factory but I will have one of each when I'm done.

I think that most of the over and under Sherman etc transmissions in the NAAs were dealer installed.

I had a man help me in the shop at our dealership back in the early 60s and he had a Jubilee with the over and under transmission and also a cut down Chevrolet car that he drove to work in. Some times when the Chevrolet was on the blink he would drive the Jubilee to work. He lived about 20 miles away from the dealership and he said the he could make the trip on the Jubilee in asmost the same time as in the Chevy.

He woulp put the transmission in overdrive and shift up till he was in fourth gear and if he were in a really big hurry he had a wire tied to the throttle shaft of the carburetor and would pull on that to gain extra speed. He said that you should have seen the look on some of the folks who he would pass on the way to town on that tractor doing about 50 MPH. He said that the faster the tractor got the thinner the back tires got and that they would really put up a racket.

Never was late for work!!!!

My Jubilee has Sherman over/under/direct if that's what you are calling a 3 speed. The lever is on the left side. I sold a NAA transmission which had a HUPP o/u/d with the lever on the right side. I think some Shermans also had a cable.

By some arcives showing the lever it appears to be a Over/Under/Direct Hupp. Mark H.

To my knowledge, Ford didn't offer aux trannies from the factory until the Workmaster/Powermaster (641/841) came out in '58 (late '57). Before that they were either owner or dealer added units. I have a friend with an o/d aux tranny on a 2N with the shifter on the right side. It's a Hupp. I don't know if Hupps were available for Jubilees, too.

That footrest/toolbox is a factory deal. Most of them rusted out. If yours is in good condition, BONUS! I think maybe they needed some drain holes drilled in the bottom to prevent moisture accumulation.

OK I foud out in the Arcives they do have a 3-speed now I need to figure if it is that or a Howard one. I thought the left Step Plate was patched and was bummed but I just seen it is a tool box under the running board! Never thought they would put one there. Mark H.
