Dan,

To answer your question, "I have stay bars and mounting angle for sway bars but no sway bar,can stays be used for both?" The answer would be yes, ONLY if you are using the eleven hole drawbar. Because the stay bars form a triangle with the 11 hole drawbar, and also a triangle with the lift arm and the differential case, thus the stay bars not only keep the drawbar from rising up but they keep the drawbar from shifting from side to side, just as sway bars would. Using sway bars with stay bars is redundant.

HOWEVER, you CANNOT use the hydraulics when you have stay bars attached!!!! So if you are thinking that the stay bars would keep an implement, say rear blade, from shifting from side to side, There is no point in it since you cannot raise (or lower) the implement. There you must use sway bar(s).

ED Gooding had a good picture showing the 11 hole drawbar and the stay bars on Photopoint which is gone. I have one I will scan tonight and post to ----- --

Regards,
Larry

Dan..... .my Boeing Designers Manual lists 150 ft/lbs for 5/8 NF. Don't know where ya gotts the 200/240, gonna haffta check.

The anti-sway bars that go to the angle brackets under the rear fenders have "bent" ends. Don't bother trying to use the adjustable stay bars, ya can't tighten 'em tight enuff. Anti-swaybars $10..... ..Dell

I have a couple different FO-4's and have found that the newer the edition the more info and pictures they have. I would look at getting the latest one also.

Dan:

I understand 150 ft.lbs is correct. These are castelated nuts and any higher would not seem necessary.
