This tractor was starting easy, but wanted to be choked when running. Overhauled the carburetor, newly cleaned gas tank, new fuel valve, new fuel line. Now that has been done, I went to start her up. Very difficult to start, putt, putt, putt, putt for about 20 seconds, and then all of sudden (like something kicked in) it RAN GREAT! Nice and strong clean running. Drove around for about 30 minutes then shut the engine off. About an hour later, tried to re-start and it WON'T START. Checked the spark: Only a itty-bitty spark on all 4 plugs. However this is the same amount of spark this tractor has had for quite some time now. Is it possible that this re-built carb. is going to require a better spark than it did in the past? Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

Yes it is possible. A rich running machine will require less spark. First get your spark up to par.. Check the voltage on top of the coil with the points closed. (3.5 volts) check your gap on your points... .016". (With not pits on the point surfaces.) Do the midnight test.. Look for high voltage leakage on your high voltage wiring. Just for good measure put in a new capacitor (condenser)Then check your plugs and make sure they are clean and gapped properly...and the electrodes have nice sharp corners on them..
Happy Motoring
