I got tired of cleaning up my shop and decided I would tear apart a 8N starter to see what I needed for shaft bushings. Found out that the od was 3/4 inch and the id should be 5/8 inch. I found a set I bought for a V8 8ba I had not used in my desk drawer. Same measurements but id was .627. The front is the same length but the rear I had to cut down to 5/8 inch. Also the gemerator bushing is the same id and od measurements. The front ball bearing on the V8 generator is the same bearing as the flywheel pilot bearing with a diffrent number showing in the parts book.

And yes I know I get distracted easily from cleaning up the shop. What can I say.

I always say, pays to save old (removed) parts.
Escecially on Sundays!

I can relate to the distractin thing , My shop got so cluttered I could barely get the tractor in & out so it was time to do something about it. i'd rather play with the tractor than clean shop. Play safe.
