Been thinking (again)..... .....

Been thinking about Truck's idea about posting pictures of N-Series collectibles and so, here's an idea, and I have no clue on how much work it would take to make it happen...

ALthough some of the books on the market have some excellent information, what I see as lacking is a clear, organized and concise photo documentation of the accessories true to the N series beginning with the 39 9N.

For example, I have the two generators that were made for the 9N, the small peanut sized generator and the larger two or three brush generator. I have been meaning to photograph them together and provide that as just information about the size difference. Where do I post that picture so that it can be archived and made available for easy reference for those who would like to see that? Sort of in a "Collectible Section" or, N-Series Accessories Section?

Perhaps, on this site or Andy's? a link to N-Series collectibles, and compare and contrast of parts, accessories and a chronoligical order of when they appeared for those people who are interested in these kinds of details. Examples would be side by side pictures (or separate pictures) of the double ribbed, single ribbed, and Ford scripted fenders with approximate dates they appeared. Even pictures of the fenders for 100 Series and when the bracket types changed (Jim U.T. could provide that), close up photos of the CM Hall lights (and parts of the light set), the Tract-o-lites, and Ford lights, rear red and work lights, Taurus lights, etc. etc.) etc. etc. etc. etc.

Well, I could go on, and I hope I didn't embarass myself here by posting this idea, but it would be a great use of the internet and these sites to help the collector easily see and learn about the subtle differences in design and parts and paraphanalia that I find of interst and maybe someone else would find valuable too.

I'll go back to my coffee and workshop and hunker down now. thanks for your patience. 9N'er

9N'r --- sounds great ---

email me directly with some details of your quest and some sample pics etc. etc and I will work through it. I still need Tyler(MD) to walk me through the finer points of Dreamweaver so that I can use this tool. I am familiar with html code and FP but not with DW2002 --- I need a few more minutes of his time ----

Man, I have worked overnight for the last 7 days straight (including working during the day) -- drove back home yesterday got in around 2:00PM and saw "We Were Soldiers" last night -- went to bed and then got called out at 12:00AM --- how nice. Simply TOO much work for one person...

In any case, please let me know - sounds GREAT!

Andy

I think it was Edison who said something like "Inventions are 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. The world is full of ideas that were never implemented because of the lack of the perspiration. Go and get yourself a web site and do the work. If you do not know how, there are many fine books on HTML... Get Busy..
