I go to the live chat from time to time, but I can't keep down with the pace. I for one would check in from time to time. I check in every sunday morning to a Masonic room and there are people from around the country and the world there. If any one ever decides to get one started, I'm in for as much as I can be. HOWEVER, I am one of those 'puter illitterattes, so I will be pounding on alot of doors for help, and if that gets annoying to those who know, feel free to tell me to sit down and shut up and I won't be offended. HOPING IT HAPPENS

cuz it aint live...it is browser controled and you have to 'post' and refresh just like here...

Now...If someone wanted to 'chat' live in an IRC room...I am all for it and know some nice quiet NETs that we can start a room on if there were enough folks interested...

I always did like Irc and would surely check in if there was a room for Ns.
Lot of computer challenged people out there though.
I wonder how many would be willing to DL the software and learn how to use it.

You are correct that some folks might be intimidated by IRC (Internet Relay Chat), but there are some good, fairly easy to use, cheap/free IRC programs and alot of sites that are dedicated to instructing newbies.

Personally...I like mIRC...it is shareware (at least the old copy I have is) and it works great.
I only frequent one room on one Net, but have been to many...I like the little, out of the way, Nets as opposed to DalNet, etc.
Some of them downright scare me!

LOL

I am in contact with a small Net and have been informed that they are able to accomodate a Java entrance as well as IRC registration of a 'room'.
What this means is that those that do not wish to 'download' and learn a new program, would still be able to chat in 'realtime' with just their browser.

I will get more info in the AM Monday...
