I have a 2n Ford tractor and it has a glass jar on the air vent. I dont see this on any of the other tractor pics. Is this original or does any one know why its on there? Also there are two holes on both sides toward the back of the hood next to the dash. Looks like some type of emblem was on there from factory but I cant see anything on any pics of the 9N or the 2N that would be on there. Thanks for any help. Regards, Bill

I posted a pic on the Gallery on here so you can see the jar Im talking about. Its kinda far off but will give you an idea of what I mean. Does anyone have a pic with a jar on it? Thanks friends.

Are you sure you don't have a Ferguson or Ferguson hood? The 9/2N didn't have a hole in the side of the hood for an intake. The 8N did. There was an optional through-hood vertical intake stack. Certain Ferguson models had an emblem onthe rear portion of the hood.

Glass jars were only found on the 8n's. If your glass jar hangs off a horn sticking out the side of the hood, then someone modified your hood to fit the new style of air cleaner. While it isn't original, it works a lot better because it uses the hurricane effect to trap the big chunks before they go into the air cleaner. As far as emblems in the back, the only one I am aware of is a brass patent plate riveted to the dash with four rivets about 2" X 3". The other emblems are on the front of the hood.

Glass jar found on the 8N's (cyclone kit pictured above) with something yellow and green inside it. LOL

This is a restoration but it is supposed to be all original. The serial number is 9N146359 and according to all the things Ive read it is normal for a 2N to have 9N numbers on it. I have seen the jar on the side of the 8N models but this is the way it was equipped but I have seen lots of 2N pics and never seen the jar on any of them nor any emblems on the left and right side of the hood by the dash. I have the Ford and Ferguson System emblems on the grill. Thanks to you all.
