Since CT is going out of business, I visited the local store to see what they might have left for my Jubilee. I've been wanting to get a PTO conversion shaft for some time but never got around to it. Anyway...they had conversion shafts for 8Ns but not Jubilees. I see in the specs that the 8N version is a little longer, but don't know if there are any other differences. I bought one anyway(they were only $40.00). Does anyone know if I can cut that shaft down in order to use it? I hope so. If not I'm sure I'll use it sometime.

Joe,
Sorry, I can't answer your question, but I do have one for you.
For $40 did you get just the shaft or was it a complete assembly which includes the bearing, seal, and dust cover?

Hi Eddie,
Thanks for the reply. I got the whole conversion kit(at 60% off). IT came with the bearing and dust cover. I'm going to take it apart tonight. Cooincidentally enough my PTO shaft broke last night while snowblowing. I had been meaning to replace it because my 1 3/8" adapter was getting loose. It stripped the shaft now. I'll see what it looks like tonight.

Well I can finally answer my own question. The PTO shaft will work...with a little work. The shafts are different for 2 reasons. One is the length. The 8N shaft is a little longer. No problem, cut it down. The other problem is that on the NAA shaft there is a bushing in the middle for a seal to ride on. The NAA has seperate fluid for the hydraulics and rear diff, and the 8N doesn't. This bushing is there to help keep them seperated. The bushing I pressed of my old shaft wouldn't simply press on to the new shaft. The shaft was too small in diameter. I had to use a sleeve on the new shaft, which we knurled, and then pressed on the old bushing. Anyway...if you're planning on replacing the PTO shaft, use the right one.
