A friend was telling me there is a battery available for old cars now that eliminates the need to change over parts. Says it starts with 12v then switches to 6v? Anybody heard of this? Will it work with an original 8n setup??

Link to the site for six twelve battery is: www.antiqueautobattery.com They have six/twelve volt switches; six/twelve volt batteries; and, other neat stuff.

Will they work with an 8n? Don't see why not. N series electrics are so complicated and difficult to maintain that the people who do twelve volt conversions ought to be lined up for these. I can see a use for them if you have something like a 331 cubic inch Chrysler and you want to keep the stock dash without resistors. On the other hand if you can't keep an N series six volt system maintained and starting below zero due to lack of interest or ability this may be the way to go.

Your mileae may vary
