I went to use my Draft control today and it dos'nt seem to be working, I just rebuilt the lift cover 6 months ago, everthing was working great after the rebuild including the draft control which I used plowing my garden with my one bottom plow, today, I tried useing the draft control with my back blade and the blade goes right down to the ground, if I hold the "Little lever under the seat"(-: down with my thumb(another 1/4") the draft control mode works just fine, so, refresh my memory, what adjustment needs to be done to cure this problem ?, I'm guessing I need to pull the lift cover agian ??

Thanks.

later,dave

Dave what probably has happened is that you have bent the draft linkage inside the lift housing at the point where the rod with the small spring surrounding it is welded to the dog leg or off set yoke that side steps the rocker arm and shaft.

The bolt holes where the four bolts that attach the quadrant to the lift housing are elongated for the adjustment of the draft control mode. You may be able to do a rough adjustment by loosening the four bolts and then with a hammer bumping the whole quadrant mount toward the back of the tractor untill the lift starts to raise. Stop at this point and don't do any more than is absolutely necessary to get it to lift. When you change the position of the quadrant to obtain the draft operation again it will also change the position control adjustment. It may not be enough to be of consequence.

I have a jig and a booklet that has lots of pictures and tips on properly adjusting the 8N lift. If you are interested just Email me for the details.

Thanks Zane.
I had everything working just great so I know at one point it was right, I did clip a tree with my back blade, I was going at a pretty good clip, stopped me dead in my tracks "BANG", I wonder if that's what bent my linkage???, I tried moveing the control lever mount, did'nt seem to help.

It will work if I hold the lever down with my thumb, I ended up takeing a small chain and chaining it down, ran the chian from the running board to the lever, I had to get what I was doing done which I did, now I wish to fix it .
