My hydraulics were not working properly so I put a rebuild kit in the pump and a new piston and o-ring in the lift. I also adjusted the draft & position controlwhen the lift was out of the tractor. When I put it back together it would not lift at all. I have taken the pump back off of the tractor and will take it apart soon to see if I can find my error. Any obvious mistakes?? Thanks, Mark B (WI).

The NAA came with the vane pump. If it still has the vane pump which I doubt it will prime itself without any bleeding if it has a dab of oil in it when reassembled. If it has been changed to the piston type pump it must be blead by removing the front plug in the head of the pump and starting the engine at an idle and let it run till no air bubbles come out with the oil. Usually will loose about a cup full of oil untill it is blead of all air bubbles. It will not move enough oil to worry about it squirting you in the face. It will just dribble out.

If after it has been blead it still will not work the lift the unloading valve could be stuck and need the O ring replaced on it.
There is a procedure for the back pressure valve to be moved out of the way when removing the lift cover and replacing it. Did you move the backpressure valve out of the way and re seat it when it was the lift was reinstalled? If not the unloading valve will not work unless the backpressure valve is workning right. The big O ring that goes between the lift ram cylinder and the backpressure valve must not leak.

You did prime the pump didn't you? Page 33 in my FO19 Manual. Then I would see what kind of pressure its putting out. Should be about 3000psi under hydraulic system tests P 35/36.
