The right rear hub leaks on my 47 8N when parked. What kind of repairs am I to look forward to or will some type of maintenance, packing etc... do the job?
Thanks!

Hello,
You likely need to replace the axle seal and associated cork gaskets (there are two). To replace: remove the rear wheel, the brake drum, the axle hub, and the six bolts holding the seal flange in place. You should need a puller to remove the hub (if it is loose and comes right off you may have worn hub splines). Note that there are shims between the bearing retainer and the axle housing, be sure to put these back to maintain the proper bearing preload. The axle nut should to torqued to about 400 ft-lbs. Regards, EEA
