It just has occurred to me that I depend on my old 44 2n so much that it is hard to decide what season to break it down and do the major repairs that it has needed for so long. If it isn't snowplowing, plowing , raking , brushhogging , mowing , then it starts all over again. The lack of a garage points to spring but it is so busy here then. I need to replace the clutch, leaky main seal and now the steering. I think I might have to buy another tractor just so I have the time to fix this one. Thanks for all the help. It is so much easier to have a hundred ace mechanics looking over my shoulder.

Amen B-R! I have been contemplating an engine re-build, but it would have to be between mowing and plowing seasons. Here in Northern Illinois, we are more likely to have snow falling on top of grass that needs to be cut than we are to have a white christmas, so my choise would be in the fall.

I like that second tractor idea, though....

Yep. Probably a good idea to have a spare tractor, being that you keep one so busy. After all, even a tractor needs a rest period.
