I don't get on here everyday, but like to look back over the pages to see if I might have missed something tractor related or otherwise funny. When I clicked on Les, TN's "I don't like this board" post and that "A$$hole" song came on, I thought somebody had hijacked my computer. Worried me for a second then I had to listen to it a couple of times. Thought about it for a bit, and come to this conclusion, Every post here IS tractor related cause we all like to read about, write about, or look at tractors. We are all different, and look at things from a different perspective. There is so much info available on this site that even I rebuilt most of my 43 2N all by myself.(And if I could figure how to post pics from my email, I'd share some with you) There are lots of OTs that share humour, grief and hard times that show the human side to each of us. Life is too short to worry about the small things. It will pass us by and we will not remember who it was that pi$$ed us off that day back in 2002. There is so much trajedy around us these days, it is time to start thinking of others. My heart goes out to Brian 2n who lost his mom, to 8n guy who needs someone to give him words of encouragement, and to all you out there with any problems in your world. I will soon be leaving this board, selling my beloved 2n Ford (9N121791) and all the implements I've bought and made. We will be selling the beautifull 1920 heritage home that we live in and have put our lives into. Some things are important in life. Family and friends are just two, and we should do all we can to save them. I consider the people on this board to be friends and hope that we can learn to be tolerant of each others shortcomings. Thanks to Tyler, yours was the first site I found when we bought this computer, to Dell for making my N run, to Mark for the great pics, to Dave #1 and Bob Gaddis for the great Coors Lite pics, to Zane, although I never did buy a Thang, I admire you for making a great tractor greater, and to all who post on this board. You are my friends.

Dave, we will miss you, and like Bob says, you can still drop in and share of cup of coffee with us. I live in a small rural town. When I first came here the barber shop was in the middle of the feed store around a wood burning stove. Baby ducks, rabbits and chicks were there near the stove. There was always a pot of bad coffee on and the talk was free. The barber shop was divided from the feed store by 4x8 sheets of plywood ran lengthwise to designate the area making a four foot high wall. Lots of oldtimers and a few younguns there always swapping stories and lies about one another or whoever wasn't there to defend themselves. It was always hard to tell when it was your turn for a haircut, but eventually the barber would ask if you wanted a haircut or were just drinking his coffee. The feed store burned, the barber has since moved on and we have hair stylin' places now. This N board is a lot like the old barber shop/feed store. A few want ads, a few for sale items, lots of good advice and some good natured fun. Yes there are the grouches and the Pollyannas and the easy going good ol' boys but all in all we have the best of everything here. I would not trade it for anything. We even have dedicated scientists looking for airbag safety, safety preachers warning of the dangers of not using ORCs, lube specialists and the usual gang of idiots too. I think that I fall into the latter group, because my wife thinks that I am nuts for coming home from work every day checking the N board first. Through the years I have come to realize that these are my friends, brothers and cousins and the occasional old grouchy grampaw or uncle, but all in all I would not trade them.

Thanks for bringing this perspective. I find this board much like the old country store, where folks gathered to socialize, discuss, argue, joke, and otherwise share their lives. It's too bad our society has become so far removed from that important neighborhood. It's also interesting that we have created this cyber-neighborhood.

I'm sorry that you're having to make a life-change and wish the best for you. Remember you'll always have friends here.
