I would like to install a fuel shutoff solenoid so when I turn the switch off the fuel solenoid shuts the fuel off.
Any ideas where I could get one and if anyone has done this it may save me some time looking for the right one.
TIA
Jim

two good places to get solenoid valves: Diesel repair shop, and forklift shop. Get a valve with VITON seals, won't mind the gasoline. A decent one will cost $40.00 or so. Industrial valves like ASCO will work too, but probably cost too much, again you must use a formidable seal. You might also check with your local RV service center, and last but not least, a dual tank valve out of a chevy or ford pickup will work too, but be sure to hook it up so that the 'Open-on' input is hooked to your tank, and the 'open-off' input is capped off to keep dirt and junk out. I'm hoping to do this to my home generator, right after I put a cub cadet motor-generator on the flywheel. Don't know if the brake line lock would work. Have a great evening

Jim, there are line lock/ shutoff valves for locking brakes that would do the job for you. I have known people to put them on cars as an anti theft thing. You put on the brake and switch them closed and the brakes stay on. They would hold fuel easy, try local auto supply stores.

Those work good for light front end cars in the snow on hills to. Put one on the front brakes and you can lock them out for going down a steep hill on ice or snow like in a VW Bug or my Truck sometimes. That way you can still steer when you brake. Mark H.
