Sorry for the delay. My mechanic did not show yesterday. I tracked him down on his cell and he promised he would get here today. So I am still waiting. In the meantime, I went over the wiring as per the manual as was suggested by one of you. It was all correct as far as I could tell. The solenoid wire to the junction block by-passed the Ammeter so I decided to hook it up just for the heck of it. It did not work so I went out and got another one. Guess what, it does not work either. Maybe that would give you a clue but I am still lost. I will post as soon as my mechanic shows up and does his magic.

Thank you

Karen..... ...kinda unusual to have 2 bad ammeters innna row.

That ammeter wire is suppost to come directly from the battery connection on the starter solenoid thru the ammeter to the terminal block. And if'n ya were to measure it with a volt meter, ya should have battery volts at the ammeter terminal. OR use an electric light test probe. (mines's kinda like a lightbulb innna icepick with a long ground wire with alligator klippie)

Big Warning: The N's starter solenoid is a 3-terminal device that is eazy to mount incorrectly. Mount it so the little terminal is hard to get to, that is next to the block and not out in the open where it is eazy to wire up. If'n its a 4-terminal automotive type, different rules apply.

If incorrectly wired the ammeter won't work, the battery won't charge, and the battery terminal will short out to ground internally causing major sparkies when you try to hook up the battery..... ....Dell
