I have a 46 2N that drains the battery in about 20 minutes after it is shut off. I have checked the ignition switch and it is working.Have checked coil and starter for power with switch off,and there was none.Any idea where this power could be draining ? By the way the battery is new.

Just a wild guess on my part but is it possible for a relay to be stuck in the charging system causing it to ground through the generator?I heard of a problem once that a guy took his belt off and the generator ran with the engine off.Cant remember the details and I certainly dont want to give bad info so please correct me if Im wrong.

Usually when you take your belt off, your trousers fall down.

A generator can also be considered a motor. In fact this is one of the tests that one performs in troubleshooting the charging system. The cutout relay would have to be stuck closed for this to happen. Disconnect the wire from the cutout relay to confirm this. Otherwise a ammeter could be used to find the short by disconnnecting wires and reconnecting them one at a time until the short is found.
