Farm Fleet stores closing

In case you haven't heard- The Farm and Fleet stores are closing. The cashier at the store told me the closing is chain wide.

I believe this is the same chain as 'Farm and Country'.

The closing here started this week. All stores in Michigan have 20% - 40% off all merchandise.

I guess I can pitch out my Farm and Country catalog....

Unfortunately, all the good implements are gone already locally, but still good deals on tools and tillage repair items...

To clarify what is going on a couple of years ago Central Tractor out of Ill. and Quality Farm and Fleet out of mich. merged without the proper planing and got in very deep finacial trouble, Value Built tractor parts is the CT used parts division that was spun of as a seperate enity and hope that it will make it, the company was going to change the name to Quality Stores Inc., some got changed and some didn't. They have bin in bankruptcy court for quite awile and some of the former owners had wanted to buy the company back but at $14,000,000 couldn't match what TSC paid $18,000,000 to get rid of the competion buy closing the chain down. Wife was in managerial training at CT, Left Quality last July to go elseware because we knew already a year and a half ago the company was in very bad trouble, creaditator telling them what they could have on the shelf. Please excuse poor spelling. County Post also part of the company.

I went to one of these Fake and Fleece sales.They mark everything up to make up for the percent off. So be a smart shopper.

I noticed that right off the bat. All of the price tags are new, then you take the % off that ticket price. Very old business trick.

Have you heard the news about f&f selling 250,00 dollars worth of gift certificates across the country for Christmas & now they will not honor them. According to the paper the Attorney General here in MI is looking into this. I hope non of you folks or your family got stuck with them. Donn

I read that QF&F is being bought by Tractor Supply. They are bleeding off the inventory of the stores through an independent company, then TSC will take over. The one in Lancaster Ohio has been picked over pretty good. All the good stuff is gone. They do have a lot of auto parts left and I can always stockpile oil and filters!!

our local ones are "Blain's Farm and Fleet"

I ordered some tune-up parts for my 8n from Value Tractor catalog and asked if they were connected in any way. He said that they were being sold again for the 9th time in 13 years. Not sure who will put this all back together but someone might.

There is a Quality Farm and Fleet store near Noblesville Ind. that is going out. I think they are independently owned maybe.
