Hi My Dad recently purchased a 1942 2N that he says was used by the military. I don't know much it must have some military markings, maybe a military liscense plate. He has the plate number, and says it is gray.

Any of this sound familiar? Any ideas where I can get more information would be greatly appreciated.

Dad has been collecting and restoring tractors for years, but he does not have internet access.

Thank you in advance.

Jan

It would seem hard to believe the Seebees would not have used N tractors. I have seen photos of recruted Chineese civilians pulling by hand huge rollers in the construction of air fields.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know where I would find out if the Seebess marked their equiptment, and what the marking mean?

I don't think there was a specific "military" model, other than the Moto-Tug. All 9N's and 2N's were painted gray, and I'd guess that the government bought a bunch of them for various duties.

Thanks for the reply, Dad called and clarified.

The 2N is a 1943 and it has a "what looks like a military transfer stamped on the hood WT3596. So I guess a better questions would be does the military have a listing of these numbers somewhere?

I have to go to a military site to find out but Thanks anyway. I will keep looking. Its fun.

we believe we have a 2N military tug but don't have fenders. We would like to see photos of a complete unit. Our tractor can be viewed on www.higginscrane.com. Any info would be appreciated.
