third party image

The deer I shot Nov. 3rd this year.
He was a big bodied, heavy horned 10 pointer.
Biggest buck I've ever gotten.
When I got the snow plow pictures developed
this was one of the first ones on the roll.
Scene is up at my lake property in central MN
near Aitkin.
Sorry Dave #1 it's not Coors light my bro. and I are holding there. 30 pack Stroh's was on sale...

If I had hooked the chevy up to it I might have accidentaly pulled that big tree over.
Heh heh
Besides, the 2N would have been too slow to drive in to town to get more beer.

that is on really purty 9N. It really wins big over the red and grey 9N's that stab me evry time I see one. It is like a slow and deliberate death. Old Henry would be proud to see HIS 9N in the field still grey and looking bettter than my wife ever will

Great buck, Congratulations. It is much like my goal for this year, Hang a nice buck, from my home made boom pole, on my restored 8N.
Oh well, the N is done and ready for snow, maybe next year. 1 out of 3 will hafta do.

That's a fine looking deer. Have you used your N to skin one? With a golf ball and a steel cable, you can zip the hide off in a jiffy. Sometimes we have to do 5 or 6 in a morning and our Jubilee sure comes in handy.

I want to hear more about this fancy deer skinning trick! I can skin and quarter one by hand (the old fashion way) in about 20 minutes. Lots of practice.

Slicker than owl stuff.

Cut around legs above knee/hocks, slit inside leg skin and up belly to just below neck (kinda like the normal way you skin one)and all the way around the neck. Then, instead of pulling by the armstrong method, take a golf ball or rock, place it on the skin side behind the neck and tie a small rope around the bump it forms on the HAIR side. Attach a cable or rope securely to this knob and hook the other end to your "N". With the deer tied securely by the head (head up), drive away slowly. Works great. Peels right off.

Very nice deer - looks like he was a dominant buck by the way his neck is puffed out. He probably sired quite a few deer in his life.
